After 50 years, Maureen is a tough act to follow, but Miss Stephanie is coming to Winchester!

For 50 years, Maureen has shared her positive energy and talents with dancers of all ages in Winchester. For many years she taught at her studio, Maureen's School of Dance. For the past two years, she's held classes three days a week at the Grange Hall in Ballet, Tap, Gymnastics and Jazz.
In June, Maureen had a golden anniversary recital celebrating 50 years of teaching dance! How many studios can say they've had such a great run?
Maureen choreographed a recital dance dedicated to family and students and there were tears all around as she retired on a high note.
When I heard about the possible retirement, I called Miss Maureen to chat about her plans. We got to know each other a bit and talked to Jim Tetreault at the Winchester Town Hall.
I've been teaching dance in Jaffrey-Rindge since 1996 and taught in New Jersey before that. My community-oriented approach seemed like a good match to the program Maureen was wrapping up. Before school let out in June, flyers went home to all students of the Winchester School and were posted in town.
As August meanders by, back-to-school readiness is on the minds of families. It's also time to start register for fall dance classes and I can't wait to greet Winchester's students!
The Earth Dancer School offers online registration at EarthDancer.net. Our class schedules are available on the registration page, along with the dance handbook, where you'll find everything you need to know and more! General class descriptions and required dance attire are listed under classes.
Classes begin the first week of September for girls and boys, tots to teens in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Lyrical styles. We're starting off with a nice variety of classes at the Grange Hall on Wednesdays. Workshops will also offered during the year. The Free Spirits Dance Company, pointe, tumbling and skill builder classes are available at the Earth Dancer School's Jaffrey location.
Earth Dancer's students have always been very welcoming of new students and will blend seamlessly as Jaffrey and Winchester dancers join for their annual recital.
Dance parents that have questions about schedules, placement or dance attire are encouraged to call so we can chat personally about class offerings, experience and levels for your dancer's age group!
While Maureen can never be replaced, I look forward to meeting and greeting students on September 6th, carrying on the tradition of dance instruction in downtown Winchester!
