Urgent Appeal

Friends, we need your financial help to support the campaign to stop Liberty Utilities.

HELP US STOP LIBERTY UTILITIES FROM EXPANDING GAS THROUGH NH

Organizing and educating to protect communities from fracked gas expansion since 2014.

We just sent out a mailing to all of the businesses in the minor and major impact zones of the Granite Bridge Pipeline route. Now we're getting ready to send out mailings to the impacted landowners and abutters along the route and give community information sessions. We need your financial support to continue this important work.

WHO PAYS FOR THE PIPELINE?

All of Liberty Utilities' ratepayers do.

WHO PAYS FOR THE PRODUCT LOST DUE TO LEAKS?

Leaks in the pipeline and in other transportation are paid for by ratepayers.

WHO PAYS STRANDED COSTS?

When the pipeline and/or natural (fracked) gas becomes redundant, the ratepayers continue to pay the costs of the pipeline, even if it stops being used.

WHY ARE THEY IN A RUSH TO GET THIS PIPELINE APPROVED?

Fossil fuels are being replaced with renewables. Liberty Utilities has been aggressively seeking contracts all over New Hampshire, projects that can be connected so the gas can be exported, increasing the price. Liberty, and other gas companies want to lock us into a fossil fuel future to ensure their profits. What we need is clean, safe, energy independence, and that is available to us through renewables.

THE NED PIPELINE WAS WITHDRAWN. DOES THIS IMPACT ME?

Yes, it does! The NED Pipeline was withdrawn due to a lack of gas contracts. Liberty Utilities has been aggressively seeking gas contracts. They have multiple projects across New Hampshire. Once connected, they could begin the process of exporting the gas. The Keene gas plant could be expanded and a pipeline pushed through Southern NH again. The way they are proposing pipelines in segments makes it seem more innocuous, less threatening. In reality, it's just another plan to make ratepayers pay for a pipeline they don't need.

Please help us share this information and more. Your contribution will go to our campaign to educate and reach out to these communities, so they will be well informed of what they face if the pipeline is approved.
