The second People's Climate March will be held in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 29th, with the first March for Science scheduled the previous Saturday, April 22nd, Earth Day. As these event draw near, organizations prepare, planning meetings, trainings and actions.
ECHO Action will have two teams at climate marches on April 29th, one at the State House in NH and the other, taking buses, driving to march on Washington, D.C. The Concord, NH march, sponsored by Sierra Club NH Chapter, will bring groups from all over to rally at the State House.
In Washington, D.C. groups like Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Beyond Extreme Energy and Food and Water Watch will assemble large focus groups to participate in the march and take advantage of the many descending upon the region, to gather, network and take action in the Capitol City.
In December, Delaware Riverkeeper Network sponsored a People's FERC Hearing to document abuses of the system, with an ultimate goal of being able to testify in Congress that FERC, a rubber stamp agency, backed by the fossil fuel industry, needs to be replaced or removed completely.
The unifying goal of all of the organizations marching for climate is to see a transition to 100% renewable energy for the safety of water, air, food and future.
