Peterborough & Rindge, N.H. – Solarize Monadnock will be launching their campaign to increase the number of solar installations in the region with two kickoff events in March. The towns of Peterborough & Hancock & Sharon will hold their kickoff at the Town House in Peterborough on Wednesday, March 13th from 6:30-8:00pm and the towns of Rindge & Fitzwilliam will hold theirs at Franklin Pierce University’s Spagnuolo Hall, on Thursday, March 14th from 6:30-8:00pm. Come and join the festivities while snacking on refreshments, talking with neighbors, volunteers and solar installer representatives.
The town leaders for the Solarize Monadnock Campaign are well known in their communities as renewable energy leaders. Dori Drachman, a member of the Monadnock Energy Hub’s steering committee is leading the Peterborough campaign. Michelle Russell, leader of the Hancock campaign, is working to bring solar panels to ConVal high school. Anne Fischer is co-chair of the Sharon Conservation Commission and managing editor of Solar Novus, a trade publication that reports on the global solar industry. Pat Martin from Rindge, brings a wealth of knowledge from a previous Solarize campaign in 2010, and Stephanie Scherr is the Director of ECHO Action NH and is experienced with climate action and pipeline opposition campaigns. She will be leading the Fitzwilliam Solarize efforts.
Solarize Monadnock is happy to be partnering with ReVision Energy, a regional,
employee-owned company whose mission is to accelerate New England’s clean energy
transition from fossil fuels to solar energy. A Certified B Corporation using business as a force for good to solve social and environmental challenges, ReVision also offers solar compatible technologies such as air source heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, LED lighting, and EV charging that help communities transition completely away from fossil fuels. With over 8,000 installations to date, ReVision Energy consistently ranks among the best solar companies in the country and was named #1 Rooftop Installer in New England in 2017 and 2018 by Solar Power World magazine.
The Solarize Monadnock campaign is fueled by a dedicated group of volunteers. From all walks of life, volunteers include everyone from students to Select Board members.
Franklin Pierce University students will be aiding the efforts in Rindge. Ameryca Freeman, the university’s Student Honors Community Service Chairman, said "When I heard about the Solarize Monadnock opportunity for Rindge and Fitzwilliam locals, I felt that this was a chance for Franklin Pierce to become more unified with the surrounding community. Our efforts not only support the community in promoting clean energy but also show how much we care about bettering our environment." Come meet Ameryca Freeman and the rest of our volunteers at one of our Kickoffs.
Attendees will learn about the benefits of solarizing their home, available financing, and weatherization possibilities while reducing their carbon footprint and bringing energy independence to the region. Campaign volunteers from each town as well as ReVision will provide presentations and answer questions. Refreshments will be available.
Can’t make the event in the town closest to you? Residents of any of the five towns are welcome to attend either kickoff. The presentations will cover information relevant to everyone and attendees can sign up both nights for a solar site visit!
