Keene, NH - Live music, giveaways and information about activism opportunities? Sign us up!
Monadnock Region organizations and Keene State College's own clubs and groups gathered together with musicians at the school's first "Arts & Activism" day at the student center yesterday.
Climate Mobilization, Keene Democrats, Planned Parenthood, a Walpole group against a quarry project, an area progressives group and KSC's Eco Reps, Campus Ecology, SolarFest, Ban The Plastic Bag and other groups surrounded the room while groups played rock to mountain music throughout the 4 hour event.
A steady stream of students wandered through, visited tables and made themselves comfortable to listen to the music. The event was relaxed and the students friendly. Some people even danced around the room and own husband and wife danced together behind their table, the wife being twirled about from time to time.
ECHO Action's table was consistently busy with students joining our mailing list and signing up for potential internships. The event was a success and with many of those at tables already knowing each other, it was a great opportunity to network and catch up! If they repeat the event next year, we're in!
