On Sunday, more than 10,000 people marched through the streets of Philadelphia for a clean energy revolution. ECHO Action was there. A word from Food & Water Watch, the organizers of the march.

"Friends,

On Sunday, over 10,000 people marched through the streets of Philadelphia, calling for a just transition from dangerous energy to clean renewable power. It was an amazing day. I’m so thrilled by what we accomplished together. And I want to THANK YOU for making it happen. The March for a Clean Energy Revolution was endorsed by over 900 organizations from all 50 states. We organized into 16 contingents, representing a vast range of communities and concerns. And on Sunday, we took to the streets, with colorful banners, thousands of signs, and the power of our voices. And we were clearly seen and heard.

The March was covered by dozens of media outlets, from national television stations to local newspapers. And the March featured in a front-page photograph in the New York Times! There are thousands of photos and video clips circulating online, some of which are posted on the Americans Against Fracking Facebook page. Of course, we can’t declare victory – the Clean Energy Revolution has only just begun.

We look forward to continuing to work with you to build our movement and force the next president and Congress – and our state and local leaders – to take real action to eliminate our reliance on dangerous energy. In the meantime, we want to express our gratitude for making this March the success it had to be and was.

We encourage you to continue sharing your photos, videos, and stories about the March. And, in the near future we will be sending around a survey to receive feedback around the March and how we can build together moving forward.

Onward,

Mark Schlosberg

Food & Water Watch"
